Husband and Wife

Matt and I went out of town over night a couple of weeks ago and went to Alexandria, MN. We had a great time. We went to the Carlos Creek Winery and did a wine tasting and went on a tour of the winery. It was so much fun! We drank wine and talked and enjoyed each other. Instead of mom and dad we got to be husband and wife again. It was great!

Our favorite wines. I loved the peach and Matt like the "Hot Dish" red.

This was us wine tasting. it was really fun. They gave us a list of every wine they make and you got to taste 5 of them. So, being the smart people we are, we each got different wines and were able to taste 10 different kinds.

This was the barrel room where the wine sits and ferments for anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. It was underground where it is cool and must. Perfect conditions for wine making.

Here we are teeing off at the Miltona Golf Club. Nice form!

We had lots of fun golfing. We went on Friday and on Saturday. We even splurged and got a cart, which was awesome!

My mom came up and stayed with Jennings over night. They had some good quality bonding time. This is what happens when you spend time alone with Grandma Galvan. You do whatever you want and dump your breakfast on your head. It took a a solid 2 days to get him back into his routine. We also had to re-learn the rules! Every time he got in trouble he started looking for Grandma to save him.

ND Horse Park

We took Jennings to the North Dakota Horse Park for the first time to watch the horse races. It is such a fun place. You can bet on the horses or just watch and visit them in the stables. We figured he would have fun because he loves all animals. We went with our very close friends Chris and Kirsten and our neighbors Chad and Tara. We all had a great time. Matt loved that it was $1 beer and hot dog night and even though nobody won, it was a blast!

Jennings loved the entire thing. He got excited when the horses were racing and he loved the trucks that repaved the track before the next race. He is also a lot like his mom and dad and enjoys a good people watching environment.
But I think his favorite part was the hot dogs. He ate almost 2 entire hot dogs, bun and all. I don't know where he puts it!

Unfortunately, mommy didn't pay close enough attention to Jennings when he was with Uncle Chris. He decided it would be a good idea to let Jennings play with his beer cans!

Great Grandma's Birthday

Matt's Grandma had her 89th birthday at the end of August, so we went down to celebrate with her. We had a wonderful dinner and Jennings entertained everyone. After dinner we went back to Grandma's nursing home and had cake, complete with candles that we snuck in. Jennings had a lot of fun running into random people rooms and talking to all the Grandmas and Grandpas.

Jennings was playing with Grandma's hair the whole time we were taking pictures. Grandma thought it was wonderful. She kept saying "It's good for the roots, it keeps them stimulated!" We all got a pretty good chuckled out of that one.

Jennings loved playing with Great Grandma's walker. He kept wanting people to give him a ride.

Carter and Danielle

A couple weeks ago Danielle and Carter came to stay with us for a couple days. Danielle is my best friend from college and Carter is her son, our god son. Danielle recently moved home because her husband, Curtis, has been deployed to Kosova for the next year. The boys had lots of fun playing together. We took them to Lindenwood park the day that they left and the boys had tons of fun!

We met Anne and Lucas and all the boys played until they dropped! Jennings almost fell asleep in the swing he was so beat. It was a successful play date.
